Wink IE7 + Live MSN

Problem1)

Some friends of mine and my girlfriend too, have a sort of bug when upgrading from the old MSN version to the live one (8.1).

They fill the login fields and as soon as they press "connect" MSN crashes.
They tried to uninstall Live MSN and to install any other version of it, no way, the installer stucks before finishing installation at like 90% of the processing bar.
So they tried to install Live MSN again, it installs good, then you try connecting and it crashes again.

I suggested them to uninstall it with Your Uninstaller cause i thought thre was something wrong in the registry, they tried but nothing to do.
The funny thing was that opening IE7 to find a scan online or Web MSN it gives a crash too.

So i took my gf pc and i did those things:

1 ) uninstall Live MSN with YourUninstaller
2 ) Clean the registry with CCleaner+EasyCleaner+RegScrubXP+TuneUp Utilities
3 ) search manually the registry for keys "msn" "live" "messenger" "mygf@hotmail.com"
4 ) rebooted pc
5 ) Scan with Nod32 + Avast
6 ) rebooted pc
7 ) Clean the registry with CCleaner+EasyCleaner+RegScrubXP+TuneUp Utilities
8 ) rebooted pc
9 ) reinstall MSN
10 ) still it crashes

i'm out of ideas, i tried MSN Fix and MSN Repair too but nothing changed.

Problem2)

Everytime i open a folder where there are .avi files in it, my explorer process crashes. Even if i start an .avi from VLC, after a while explorer craches. The cool thing is that VLC stays and i can watch the film, it just disapears icons and i see the desktop only, after a while all is back correctly.

edit: i forgot that my Live MSN doesn't give me the possibility to use the drawing stuff.

I'd be glad if some of you can give me some hints to fix those.
Thank you in advance

2) Are you using some codec pack? Or any codec at all? The 1st step you can take is to reinstall dx. The best idea would be to clean install it. But there is no simple solution how to remove dx. There is a tiny program that is removing it, i used it before, but it's causing major probs. So just reinstall it.

You can also check the "event viewer". Press start-->run-->and type "eventvwr.msc". Check if there are any errors related to the issue.

Also, go here:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Dane aplikacji\Microsoft\Dr Watson

and you will see the drwtsn32.log, send it to pb.mistiqe@gmail.com ...or to microsoft
